Does anyone know any way of making the Quad core more efficient than the Dual?

Or should I still just aim for the Dual?

From what I googled here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/254391-28-what-makes-dual-core-quad-core-gaming

Dual does beat Quad in gaming, but people are saying that the Quad can clock up to and be just as good as a dual, and still has two cores unused which would suit other applications.

Which in theory should benefit me, since I will be multitasking with other things... right?

I would get some Arctic Silver thermal compound for the cpu heatsink, because the compound they give you with the heatsink is probly not the best. Also I suggest getting some thermal compound remover/cleaner just in case you don't get it right the first time or have to remove the cpu heatsink for some reason.

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007

Compound remover/cleaner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100010

Here's instructions on how to apply the thermal compound: http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appinstruct/as5/ins_as5_intel_quad_wcap.pdf

So much harder to put together than I imagined.

Know any pro's that can?

Putting in the CPU was the least of my worries, it's a snap in pin deal.

Had way more troubles with wiring...

No clue how to connect mobo to the DVD burner.
Maybe got the HD to connect to the mobo
PSU > mobo might work.

The front panel (on/off, usb, audio/mic) is a fucking mess, no clue if I got any of it right.

My manual is a piece of shit.

And my mobo didn't come with a plug for the monitor?
I don't even know how to check to see if I installed/connected anything right..
